Members of the Zilla Adivasi Kalyan Sangha on
Tuesday staged a road blockade at Bongomunda in protest against killing of
innocent tribals by Special Operation Group (SOG) forces in Kandhmal on July 8.
Later a team led by Ghimanad Bhoi, Suresh Bhoi ,
Ashok Bhoi submitted a memorandum to the Prime Minister through Titilagarh
Sub-Collector Sarat Chandra Sahu demanding stopping of combing operation in the
district and termination of service of police officials who responsible for the
ghastly incident.
Besides, they demanded that one of the members of
each deceased family be given a Government job and Rs 50 lakh given to families
as compensation.
Sangha secretary Niranjan Bisi also informed that
tribals would stage another road blockade on Balangir-Kalahandi Road on
Wednesday and gherao Balangir Collecotrate on July 16 in protest against
Kandhamal killings.
