‘FREE LAND FOR RLY LINE BJD’S POLITICAL STUNT’

The
announcement of giving free land to the Railways required for Khurdha —
Bolangir railway line and bearing of 50 per cent of its expenses to expedite
the construction of the railway line just before the General Elections is
nothing but a political stunt, said Youth Congress president Aaakash Mishra.
“If late Biju Pattnaik
had promised to give land free of cost to Railways way back in 1993, why the matter
was kept pending till today? Moreover, Chief Minister Naveen Pattnaik always
reiterates his commitment for development of backward region, especially KBK
and western Odisha. Why did not he announce of giving free land to the Railways
ten years earlier?” Mishra asked, adding that all this was done just on the eve
of elections to get political mileage.
