94thBhaler Dhanuyatra to be kicked up from tomorrow./Wednesday

The 94^th Dhanu yatra of village Bhaler to be kicked up from Wednesday at village Bhaler 5kmaway from Balangir and it will continue till16th of this month. This was announced by Sri Dinabandhu Naik to media persons today in village Bhaler.

This is the oldest Dhanuyatra held in this region .According to legend one Dadhi Patel of Bhaler village was childless and he requested Lord Shiv to bless him with a child/give a child and after worshipping lord Shiv at Surdda Temple, lord Shiva a directed him to observe Dahnu yatra. Accordingly  the family of DadhiPatel started observing Dhanuyatra by establishing a Stambha in 1921.However the DhanuYatra was observation celebration was confined to the village with much propaganda.From 2006, we have tried to spread the Dhanuyatra to other areas and have taken steps for it spread and propagation .During the seven days various local dance group ,folk dance are schedule to show their performance including  holding a day Kansa Darbar in  Bolangir on 13^th Jabnuary2014
